The NISC IV group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Electrical Engineer to work in our Oklahoma City, OK office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) server group.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Uses professional engineering principles from various disciplines in carrying out design work, field inspections, reviewing contractors' work; collecting and analyzing data.
  • Perform trend analysis, engineering testing, writing technical/management reports, root cause analysis, and recommending improvements to the design or operation of systems, equipment or processes as it relates to Weather System and Radar projects.
  • Prepares periodic written reports for Weather Systems management.
  • Works a mixture of multiple, varying and complex assignments requiring knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines under little or no direction of a manager.
  • May serve as the contributing specialist or more experienced engineer or team lead in these assignments.
  • Applies experience and knowledge of general and specific engineering principles, theories, and concepts to existing or proposed projects to satisfy customer needs/requirements.
  • Develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies including reverse engineering projects.
  • Must be able to apply knowledge of different engineering disciplines to develop, integrate and implement solutions to diverse, complex problems.
  • Provides engineering support of large projects and monitors resources to accomplish complex engineering tasks which may involve supporting several projects requiring a diverse engineering discipline simultaneously.
  • Identifying customer requirements and decision-making processes.
  • Policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments but are allowed considerable discretion to select the most appropriate approach.
  • Will typically receives little guidance on selecting the approach from a manager and will be required to assume the role of team leader, or senior engineer on issues which depart significantly from established concepts, theories, and principles.
  • Communicates with customers, contractors, and external organizations.
  • Will need to resolve operational performance deficiencies; to recommend operational and system requirements; to explain or defend issues; to participate in interdisciplinary teams; to obtain or provide Information' to provide technical and professional guidance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years previous working experience as an Electrical Engineer.
    • Additional years of experience may be substituted in leu of a degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust background investigation.
  • Must have experience related to either Radar or Radio Frequency technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of working with power systems as well as integrated circuitry.

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
