Departmental Overview

The NRHS Neurology Clinic is a fast-paced environment with a great team. We have a culture of stepping up for eachother and doing everything we can for our patients to help them bridge the gap from sickness to wellness. We need an outstanding patient friendly Medical Assistant team. The Medical Assitant would assist our Neurology Associates of Moore team in rooming patients, taking vitals, filling medication requests, and assisting with chart preparation. The Medical Assistant would float from our Neurology Associates Office in Moore and Norman as needed but would primarily serve only our Moore location. In addition to developing proffesionally, you will have opportunities to learn and grow personally as well. This development will be done through collaboration with your leadership team as well as teammtes in the clinic.


Job Summary

  • Provides care to patients of all ages and assistance to physicians in the Norman Regional Clinics.
  • Assist with referrals and prior authorizations for medications for patients.
  • Rooming patients, documentation in the Electronic Medical Record system, vitals signs, assisting with day to day patient care modalities and other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are crucial for this role, as well as the ability to pay close attention to detail and multi-task.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and transition duties as needed during clinic days.
  • Effective customer service, communication, and ability to follow through with all tasks assigned with accuracy and efficiency are essential for this role.
  • Interview patient and obtains pertinent information to include chief complaint and history.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.

Experience

  • Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
  • Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure/Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
  • CMA or RMA preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $13.74-$22.34/hr depending on previous work experience.
