Departmental Overview

From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, the Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes four orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health experts, physical therapists, and workers' compensation specialists.

Our skilled providers can treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday to meet our patient's needs.


Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data
  • Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care
  • Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
  • performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
  • The Same Day Surgery RN will: posses the ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the surgical or invasive procedure patient; provide age-specific pre-operative and phase II recovery care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population; coordinate all aspects of nursing care with various disciplines of the patient care team to achieve defined patient outcomes; provide a safe environment for patients and family; possess the skill to provide appropriate education to the patient and family regarding their individualized plan of care; display excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, co-workers and physicians; practice within the guidelines of Oklahoma State Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and ASPAN guidelines.
  • The PACU RN primarily provides care for pediatric to geriatric patients who have completed their anesthesia and are in the immediate post anesthesia (phase I) period. Their role includes transitioning the patient to phase II, the inpatient, or intensive care setting for continued care. Basic life-sustaining needs are of the highest priority, and constant vigilance is required in this phase.

Qualifications

Education

  • RN Required

Experience

  • Two years RN experience in an acute care setting preferred

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)/PALS or retraining is preferred upon hire/required within 3 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS and PALS is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $25.74-$42.03/hr depending on previous work experience.
  • Position receives $3.00/hr PRN differential
