MidFirst Bank, a leading bank committed to exceptional customer service, is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking and experienced HR leader to join our team and lead the development, execution and governance of our total rewards function. This position will be based on-site in Oklahoma, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources.

The Director of Total Rewards will be called upon to design and implement integrated strategies related to compensation, benefits, payroll and HR information systems, ensuring that programs align with business objectives and values, are market competitive, and bring positive impact to the organization's ability to attract, reward and retain key talent. The Director of Total Rewards will lead a strong, experienced team providing entity-wide support, and will work closely with a broad range of internal colleagues, including business line leadership, finance, and legal, to understand business issues and develop effective solutions. The role will ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the design, implementation and governance of competitive, integrated total reward strategies which attract key talent, reward high performance, are fiscally responsible, and support retention.
  • Ensure that MidFirst's philosophy, strategy and practice related to compensation, benefits, payroll and HR information systems are aligned to organizational values, strategy and performance.
  • Oversee the provision of a full suite of compensation programs including executive, broad based and incentive compensation programs, as well as job design, to support market-appropriate compensation packages that are compliant with relevant regulatory provisions.
  • Oversee design, cost-benefit analysis, and administration of the benefits programs, so that MidFirst provides complete, market competitive, easy to use, and cost-effective benefits offerings.
  • Oversee multi-state payroll operations, including biannual performance appraisal process, garnishments, taxes and other deductions, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
  • Provide oversight of our HR information system (UKG) focused on providing efficiencies for administering HR programs as well as a forward thinking employee experience.
  • Create and manage vendor relationships for total rewards programs, including the negotiation of services, with focus on long-term value and cost.
  • Responsible for total rewards policies, guidelines and procedures. Ensure strong governance and compliance with employment labor laws and regulations.
  • Create communication strategies for total rewards programs to foster employee understanding, and collaborate with internal communications function in implementation.
  • Cultivate strong service-oriented rapport with leaders and internal partners, based on a high level of collaboration and flexibility of thought in order to understand and achieve total rewards needs.
  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in a competitive landscape.
  • Build and manage strong relations with professional networks, and leverage industry knowledge and research skills to identify key insights to support organizational effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and team engagement through strong leadership capability.
  • This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

The candidate must be an experienced total rewards executive with strong management and leadership capability, and the interpersonal skills required to collaborate and partner effectively across different parts of the organization in order to function successfully in a challenging role.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive relevant total rewards experience, including design and implementation of total rewards programs.
  • Experience managing each of compensation, benefits and payroll functions.
  • MBA or Master in Finance preferred.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of benefits, compensation and payroll governance and compliance with employment labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and motivate a diverse team, and to work well with business and support units.

  • Ability to think strategically and provide total rewards-related advice at an executive level.
  • Deep business acumen and understanding of how business strategy affects total rewards.
  • Significant financial acumen.
  • Excellent relationship building and network building skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual capability, problem solving, and business planning skills.
  • Ability to execute against multiple high priority projects through exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficient. Word document and Excel proficient.
  • Leadership by example, including strong work ethic and commitment to treating others well.

Education
Masters of Business Administration (preferred)
Bachelors (required)

Experience
10 years: Experience managing each of compensation, benefits and payroll functions (required)
1 years: Progressive relevant total rewards experience, including design and implementation of total rewards programs (required)
