Location

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center(OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally, guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,000 square foot ballroom, 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park.

Job Description

The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is looking for a Restaurant in Room Captain. The Captain is responsible for supervising the activities of the room service staff. They will ensure that guests are consistently serviced in a courteous, efficient and unobtrusive manner and assist in the operation as needed.

Responsibilities
    Assist in training of the staff on service expectations.
  • Ensure proper tray set up procedures.
  • Monitor guest room floors to ensure a successful day to day operation.
  • Run orders and do tray sweeps as necessary
  • Ensure there is consistent communication flow between assisting departments.
  • Assign duties to associates to control order load and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain cohesive and effective Associate relations.
  • Inspect daily set-up, presentation and delivery of amenities when needed.
  • Conduct Moment of Service audits to ensure consistent steps of service are being followed
  • Conduct administrative work requirements.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for cash handling and tip distribution.
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly requisitions, maintain the par stock, and perform a monthly inventory.
  • Conduct daily stand-up communications meetings with the Restaurant in Room associates.
  • Perform related duties and special projects.
Qualifications
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for up to eight hours a day.
  • Ability to bend and reach above head holding up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Previous Food & Beverage supervisor experience highly preferred
  • Minimum 1year serving experience, high volume & casual environment.
  • Must have full knowledge of menus, liquor, beer, cocktails and any other pertinent information.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self motivated and organized.
  • Must have an unexpired food handlers and state alcohol certification.
  • Must be able to work under minimal or moderate supervision.
  • Must be flexible with schedules including weekends and holidays.
