Job Description

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Oklahoma City, OK Monday-Friday 2200-0630 rotating weekends

Main Duties: Assists professional staff in routine technical tasks such as: specimen processing and send outs. Other duties to include filing, temperature checks, centrifuge maintenance, stocking supplies, answering telephone calls, entering orders, storing specimens, etc. Receives specimens into the laboratory using Cerner, QLS, IDAA, Quanum LIS systems and utilizes Instrument Manager for storing specimens. Follow employer policies; work with fellow employees in a professional, productive manner.


Required Knowledge: Good computer skills, customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology.

Required Experience: High School/GED; previous laboratory experience preferred.


Special Requirement: Ability to maintain a professional, courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important. Good customer service skills, professional appearance and attitude. Able to work any day including weekend and holidays; able to flex hours and work overtime for other shifts as needed. Show up for work, on time and prepared to perform all tasks and processes, each and every scheduled work day and to remain performing those duties throughout the entire assigned work schedule for that day. Perform all tasks and processes assigned by your immediate supervisor including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processes assigned that you may be over-qualified to perform. Perform the previous two job duties/functions as a collaborative member of your work team and with a personal disposition that is positive and supportive of your fellow team members.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Position requires data background with abilities to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour
  • Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safetyhabits
  • Able to sit or stand for longperiods
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment
