We are the Global Services team. We own and operate the Cloud Services layer of our infrastructure. We are responsible for the health and performance of our VMs. This role is responsible for making improvements to the performance of our Java applications. The work will involve debugging real production issues, implementing performance improvements, and automating the diagnosis of system level issues.

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:
  • Solving real business needs at large scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Analyze fault-tolerance and high availability issues, performance and scale challenges, and solve them.
  • Experience in designing, running, and analyzing performance experiments and benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with Linux and its diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with the JVM and its inner workings.
  • A track record of working on large-scale systems and addressing complex performance issues.
  • Ensure operational readiness of the services and meet the commitments to our customers regarding availability and performance.
OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
  • 8+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale infrastructure in production.
  • Excellent understanding of operating systems concepts including. multi-threading, memory management, networking and storage, performance and scale.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $214,000 - $327,750.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
