Job Description

This position in conjunction with the Supply Chain Teams across the Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Wound Franchises is responsible for the implementation and execution of all activities for assigned product portfolio to optimize inventory, minimize cost, and achieve required customer service goals. Direct supervision of Demand Planning Staff consisting of 8 to 10 Buyer/Planners for all associated materials and manufacturing activities. This includes forecasting, production planning, capacity planning, execution oversite, and monitoring and reporting of results.

What will you be doing?

Review forecast inputs across all Franchises and insure they are accurately input into the Plant Operating System for execution - 10%

Develops and implements monthly production plans or Kanban methodology to insure business delivery objectives are met - 20%

Provide overall direction of the Planning Team to ensure accurate material flow through production in support of the production plans and to satisfy business goals - 20%

In conjunction with Global Procurement Team conduct monthly supplier performance reviews to insure adequate supplier capacity is in place to support production plans now and in the future. If adequate supplier capacity is not in place identify required resources and develop and implement corrective action -10%

In conjunction with Production Management and Plant Finance prepare capacity planning reviews to insure adequate staffing and resources are in place to support Plant production plans and financial goals -10%

Review forecast and inventory projections to adequately inform management of future impact and direction to insure inventory levels are in line with business goals - 5%

Develops annual budget for theSupply ChainTeam. Ensure adherence to budget - 5%

Support NPD and transfer projects to insure effective introduction to Manufacturing - 5%

Provides assignments, follow-up, training and career development plans for Planning Team Members. Evaluates performance of subordinates -5%

Formulates and implements LEAN/Continuous Improvement projects to improve productivity in the Planning functions - 5%

Ensure JHA's are properly completed and maintained, and that all staff are trained, especially new employees - 2%

Participate, as appropriate, in hazard recognition and control, including sponsoring capital improvements, if vital - 2%

Verify compliance with controls and preventative measures, including PPE - 1%

Fulfills Quality System requirements as described within the Quality Manual; Complies with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities as required by job function.

Supervise Planning Team consisting of 8 to 10 Buyers/Planners

Education: Bachelor's Degree required

What will you need to be successful?

Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years experience in the management of the following: purchasing, inventory control, production planning, scheduling, capacity resource planning; Five (5) years experience with Enterprise Operating Systems (SAP desired); Experience working directly with Finance (cost accounting) and Marketing; Experience with medical manufacturing, including GMP/FDA regulations desired; Excellent communication skills; Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement principles desired.
