Position Title:CT Technologist - Yukon Emergency - Part Time

Job Description:

Shift: Full-Time, 7p-7a - Nights

General Description:

Under general supervision, produces specialized images to aid the medical staff in the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients using computed tomography equipment and general radiography.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operates a computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of a patient's body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operates standard and portable diagnostic imaging equipment to produce radiographic examinations
  • Informs patient of the procedure positions and immobilizes patient and set up any supportive devices necessary to obtain an adequate scan.
  • Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures
  • Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated
  • Administer contrast/medication in conjunction with imaging procedure.
  • Responsible for entering technical data into the computer; evaluates the radiographs and computer generated information to ensure technical quality.
  • Serves as a resource person for clinic and medical staff.
  • Assist in laboratory testing as needed
  • Perform phlebotomy duties, basic laboratory procedures, wound cultures, Point of Care testing, and other care interventions within scope of practice and direction of the prescribing practitioner.

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled and graduation within 6 weeks of an accredited Radiological Technology program or graduate of an accredited Radiography program.

Experience:

  • CT experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

  • Registration from the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) within 6 months of hire required. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of Computer Aided Tomography. Good communication skills, able to communicate in a positive clear manner with staff, patients, physicians and other hospital employees. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Ability to organize and analyze statistical data.
