Location: University of Oklahoma Medical Center
Shifts Available: Full-Time (36 hours/week) Days (7a-7p) or Nights (7p-7a)
The Adult Surgical Transplant Unit is a 32-bed unit at OU Health. We treat a wide variety of patients with varying levels of acuity, both in med/surg and step-down status. We specialize in pre- and post-operative care for transplant patients-specifically liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant candidates. Surgical Transplant offers the opportunity to participate in high complexity patient care (both pre- and post-operative transplant care) and gives the ability for caregivers to see the entire organ transplant process.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an approved school of nursing. BSN required.
Experience: 1.5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting which includes at least 6 months charge experience.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Possession of a valid temporary or permanent Oklahoma license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse prior to entrance on duty. (Permanent license must be obtained within 3 months of appointment). BLS certification required upon hire. Additional certification(s) may be required based on department assignment, see attachment for details.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards plus the principles of supervision. Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, preparing written reports and in maintaining effective working relationships with others.
