Construction Inspector Oklahoma City Metro, Oklahoma
Garver has an opening on our Oklahoma City Team for a Construction Inspector. Duties will include the inspection, observation, and managerial assistance of large-scale Water & Wastewater projects construction projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Interacting with clients, contractors, the public, and Garver staff in the course of work
  • Reading and interpreting data, information, construction plans, project specifications, testing reports, schedules, and other documents
  • Assuring the quality of contractor's work meets the contract requirements and reviewing any discrepancies with the client's Representative and/or Garver PM
  • Training other staff members
  • Analyzing and solving problems
  • Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks
  • Working under intense deadlines
  • Measure, calculate, and report quantities of work performed to produce progressive pay estimates
  • Interacting with staff, owners , contractors, the public, and others encountered in the course of work
Applicants must be capable of considerable physical activity in an outdoor setting including but not limited to light lifting, bending, stooping and climbing, walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, and regularly operating motorized vehicles. All applicants must consent to a background check, drug screen, motor vehicle report as a requirement of employment.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of work experience inspecting or constructing, water & wastewater facilities, and utility construction projects.
  • Overnight travel required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in observing water and sewer construction projects
  • Survey or materials testing experience
  • Construction Management experience
  • Certified Oklahoma Materials Testing and Sampling Technician
