The Pediatric Medicine Specialty Unit at Oklahoma Children's Hospital provides extraordinary care to a variety of variable acuity patient populations. These populations include our Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (PEMU), Type I diabetic, disorders of eating, and overflow medical patients.

General Description:
Under limited administrative direction, supervises nursing staff and provides expert nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from complex to multi-complex.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
Experience: 1.5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting which includes at least 6 months charge experience.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. PALS (American Heart Association) required within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards plus the principles of supervision. Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, preparing written reports and in maintaining effective working relationships with others
